Re: Zero Season 2 Part 2 has officially begun, starting with Episode 14, titled "Straight Bet." As early as now, the show breaks a lot of hearts with Puck's departure, leaving Emilia feeling alone.

Re: Zero Season 2, Part 2 wasted no time to show the unexpected turn of events. It began where Part 1's final episode left off, featuring Otto giving Subaru the "much-needed wake-up call."

Otto and Subaru came up with a mysterious plan to save the Sanctuary and stop the attack. The second part's beginning mostly revealed the groundwork for the future moves, along with a few surprises like the "straight bet" he did with Roswaal.

However, if there was a scene that fans didn't expect to see, it was Puck's surprising return. Although Emilia expected to see the cat-like spirit, their reunion was a sad short-lived event that Re: Zero Season 2 Part 2 showed.

According to CBR, Puck decided to undo the previous contract and bid goodbye to Emilia, who was left devastated and alone. So, why did the artificial spirit has been gone most of the season?

Puck's disappearance would help Emilia remember her "forgotten memories." Although their goodbye brought tears to her eyes, she slowly saw some visions of her mother.

Sadly, as the creature stood as Emilia's parental figure through time, its departure only added to the grief that she felt as she continuously thinks of the family she left behind.

Anime News Network added if there was one significant change between Part 1 and Re: Zero Season 2 Part 2, it was when Subaru started to turn things around. His bet with Roswaal showed how the events seemed to be manipulated, but Subaru didn't let his emotions "be clouded."

Roswaal used to have the upper hand despite his condition, but Subaru now held the authority. He now has the confidence to do what he must to win and make everyone survives.

Re: Zero tells Subaru's story, who has a supernatural ability to return from the dead. However, every time he is resurrected, he will be back to zero--so the title--as time, is also reversed each time, per The Cinemaholic.

As his story continues, he will meet friends, enemies, and even fall in love along the way. The anime is based on Tappei Nagatsuki's novel series, illustrated by Shin'ichiro Otsuka.

Re: Zero Season 2 Part 2 officially begins on January 6. Now, all eyes are on Episode 15, which will be out on Wednesday, January 13, on Crunchyroll and Funimation.
