WARNING: This article contains spoilers for Chicago Med season 6 episode 3. Read at your own risk.

Chicago Med season 6 episode 4 is not scheduled to arrive next week on NBC. The medical drama is returning the following week and it will pick up where episode 3 left off. Here is what fans can expect in the upcoming "In Search of Forgiveness, Not Permission."

Chicago Med season 6 episode 4 will continue to see what transpired between Dr. Natalie Manning (Torrey DeVitto) and Dr. Crockett Marcel (Dominic Rains). The two shared an emotional story in the previous episode, something that could make them closer together moving forward.

In episode 3, Dr. Marcel's ex-girlfriend showed up in the Emergency Department and Dr. Manning became interested in her in some ways. The two take on Megan's case, who was stabbed in the line of duty. Later on, they found of that she's getting married to someone else.

The situation didn't complicate Dr. Marcel and Dr. Manning's situation. In fact, the latter referred to Megan as her "special friend." The episode ended with the two doctors becoming even closer because of the incident, hinting at a potential romance at some point.

In the upcoming episode, Dr. Marcel and Dr. Manning will lay everything on the line just to help a sick woman. This latest medical case could be another way for them to get closer. There is no guarantee they are heading in a romantic direction, but there have been hints they could end up together.

As for Dr. Will Halstead (Nick Gehfuss), Chicago Med season 6 episode 4 remains focusing on the clinical trial he's been working on for quite some time now. He is determined to make everything possible when it comes to it, though he often encounters highs and lows in the process.

One of the biggest challenges for Dr. Halstead is that he's having a hard time getting more people on his side. He can't get the majority on board and some of them don't trust the idea that he has. He's facing an uphill battle in getting participants involved in the clinical trial.

This is going to be a huge part of his storyline as the current installment progresses. Meanwhile, Dr. Ethan Choi (Brian Tee) has his own storyline in Chicago Med season 6 episode 4. He clashes with one of the patients who's demanding "absolute perfection" of himself.

Chicago Med season 6 episode 4 airs on Wednesday, Jan. 27, on NBC.
