Jake Paul’s return to the ring is set and it will happen on Apr. 17. While there is now an exact date, it has yet to be determined who the 23-year-old will face.

The past months have seen Paul call out some of the familiar names in the mixed martial arts scene. But there is perhaps no one bigger than Conor McGregor who will return to UFC action this weekend against Dustin Poirier.

Unfortunately for Paul, McGregor is not immediately interested in facing the YouTuber. However, “The Notorious” is open to the possibility although the YouTuber is not among his prioritized choices.

"That is what it is," Conor said to BT Sports. "We'll see what happens. That's it. He seems like a confused little kid to me, to be honest."

It appears McGregor wants Paul to show him that he deserves to share the ring with him. The Irishman seems to be up to date with the latest ramblings tied to the 23-year-old, including that vicious knockout that Paul had over former NBA player Nate Robinson.

But based on his reactions, McGregor has other opponents in mind. He did have good words for the YouTuber and all non-regular fighters who have been invading boxing as of late.

"It's a mad little scene at the minute, isn't it? But I'm not against any man that's willing to make that walk, you know. All the best," he stated.

The only details known about Jake Paul’s next fight is that Snoop Dogg will be back behind the mic. But in the minds of most, his next opponent is that most want to know.

Aside from McGregor, Paul has taken aim at Dillon Danis and Ben Askren. The 23-year-old was involved in a water balloon-throwing incident recently when Danis was having an interview. The attack was seen more to get the attention of the former UFC lightweight champion. But with McGregor not interested for now, the plausible choice would be the 27-year-old fighter.

Ben Askren had initially confirmed a fight with Paul which would happen in March. However, “Funky” deemed it off since the camp of the YouTuber went radio silent on him when he accepted the challenge issues by Jake Paul.

As for McGregor, his next fight after Poirier is likely to be against Manny Pacquiao. An official fight date has yet to be released but it appears to be the next logical one to make for as long as the COVID-19 pandemic does not spoil everything.
