It was earlier last year when the show announced it would be on a hiatus after experiencing a significant production delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Anime News Network, although it had enough time for the production to go forward, the state of emergency declaration badly affected its schedule.
Hence, Episode 5's release would be delayed after only dropping four episodes before it was put to a full stop. Now that the new episode is about to be released, its two-cour run now has the chance to resume, Comicbook noted.
Kingdom Season 3 will finally continue in April 2021. However, Episode 5's official release date is yet to be revealed.
