Kate Middleton and Prince William have another "baby" in the family as they've adopted a black Cocker Spaniel pup after the unfortunate death of their dog Lupo in 2020.

The new dog is reportedly a gift from Kate's brother, James Middleton, who also gave Lupo to her sister as a wedding present almost 10 years ago. The pup is now eight months old and has been happily living and playing with the Cambridge children even before Lupo crossed the rainbow bridge in November.

Sources said that Prince George and Princess Charlotte chose the puppy from a litter, which was born in early 2020. Lupo's sister, Luna, gave birth to six puppies at that time and James shared that the pooches are ready to go to their new homes in July.

Kate and William have not shared why Lupo died but many royal fans assumed it was due to old age. The dog grew up together with George and was also well-loved by Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Meanwhile, Kate and William are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary on April 29. Sources revealed that Queen Elizabeth will likely bestow a special recognition for Kate since it's also officially her 10th year as working member of the royal family.

Royal editor Duncan Larcombe said that, historically, Queen Elizabeth has honored Kate and William's previous anniversaries with a special gift to her granddaughter-in-law. When the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge celebrated their 8th wedding anniversary, the Queen granted Kate the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order, the highest honor given by the monarch.

Apart from performing her royal duties so exceptionally well, especially in these challenging pandemic times, Kate has developed a special bond with Her Majesty. The Queen has heavily relied on Kate for certain royal work and have, apparently, even asked for her help during video chats.

The Queen is said to be appreciative of Kate because she can balance her public duties and her relationship with the family. The Duchess of Cambridge respects the Queen as the monarch but also as the great-grandmother of Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Aside from their wedding milestone, this year will also mark Kate and William's first meeting 20 years ago while they attended St. Andrew's University. Royal podcasters Rachel Bowie and Roberta Fiorito said that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge definitely have so much to show for their two decades of togetherness.

However, Kate and William could still prefer to celebrate in a lowkey manner because the public health situation in the world is still worrying. Last Jan. 9, Kate turned 39 years old but she quietly celebrated her birthday at Anmer Hall with William and their three children because of the nationwide lockdown.
