Meghan Markle is reportedly not happy to learn that Queen Elizabeth has extended an invitation to have tea with Angelina Jolie after the Duchess of Sussex has been trying to score lunch with the Hollywood star and U.N. Ambassador for a year.
Sources told New Idea that Meghan has been eyeing to meet with Jolie in Los Angeles but the superstar hasn't answered her calls. The Duchess of Sussex allegedly wants to learn from the actress and philanthropist when it comes to public service.
Finding Freedom authors Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand wrote that Meghan was keen on asking Jolie to mentor herwhen she quit the royal life with Prince Harry. The Duchess of Sussex was curious as to how Jolie could balance a flourishing career with her activism. Meghan wanted to pattern her new career as a public servant with the famous actress and understood that she could do so much more with her celebrity status.
Now, sources are buzzing that Meghan found out the Queen's aides were instructed to arrange a meeting with Jolie. The insider said that Her Majesty wants to "team-up" with the actress and "totally burn" Prince Harry's wife.
However, New Idea has falsely made claims about the royal family several times in the past. In August 2020, the news outlet reported that Queen Elizabeth was in Los Angeles to confront Meghan and Harry for abandoning their royal roles. Gossip Cop debunked the incredible report since it's impossible for the Queen to be traveling these days.
Given the pandemic, the Queen has been isolated and living a very protected existence with her husband, Prince Philip, in Windsor Castle. Both elderly royals are vulnerable to the virus so they aren't seeing a lot of people in-person.
This also means that for as long as the safety and health protocols are in place, the Queen will not likely have social tea and in-person meeting. Her Majesty hasn't even been seeing her family members as much as she can since the United Kingdom is still under lockdown.
The Queen and Jolie, however, have met once before in 2014, when the monarch conferred the actress as an Honorary Dame despite her non-British citizenship. Her Majesty wanted to recognize Jolie for her humanitarian work but the Queen was quite starstruck with the Hollywood superstar. According to Vanity Fair, she was overheard telling Jolie that the actress should be the one bestowing honors since she has a huge name.
