In Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 16, Todou managed to outsmart them all before they could even bring the cursed spirit down and defeat it on its own with a single uppercut. He then told them he could fight him again at once, so Yuuji faced him and hit him with his flying knee on the forehead.
Megumi, Panda, Maki, and Nabara left Yuuji behind and went on their way. Maki then said it's Yuuji's role to handle someone like Todou.
Barbara then intervened, saying she knew Todou was a monster, while Panda suggested they could just ignore him.
According to OtakuKart News, it was the plan to leave only one person to face Todou behind. If they did it at once, they might all die altogether.
Maki asked Yuuji to handle Todou alone. He just had to keep Todou busy to buy them some time, but he planned to do something more.
As Todou seemed to win over Yuuji, the latter got up. As they continued the fight, Mai joined in and fired bullets at Yuuji. Kasumi also attacked Yuji with New Shadow Style Simple Domain, but he managed to block it.
Later, Yuuji realized all Kyoto members were surrounding him, and they all wanted to kill him. Toledo then asked everyone to leave Yuuji to him.
Panda then revealed Principal Gakuganji seemed to order for Yuuji's head. Kamo then ran away, and Maki said they would return to assure Yuuji's safety. As the battle continued, Yuuji might get some help in Jujutsu Kaisen Episode 16.
The new episode will drop on Friday, January 29, for premium users on Crunchyroll, per HITC. Free users, on the other hand, will see it after a week-on February 5.
