The doctors at Chastain Park Memorial Hospital will be dealing with one of the most challenging medical cases in The Resident season 4 episode 4. While the COVID-19 pandemic has shown the challenges they've encountered, next week's episode will see them trying to deal with a "mystery illness."

The title of The Resident season 4 episode 4 is "Moving on and Mother Hens." This is likely a reference to what was noted in the synopsis, wherein the staff worked together to diagnose a mother-daughter pair. Both of them have similar symptoms, but the doctors couldn't determine their exact conditions.

Even though the pandemic left a huge impact on them, the doctors still need to move forward with their job and take on new medical cases. This is a challenging medical case for everyone as they have to make sure they're making the right diagnosis.

It's yet to be seen what this mystery illness could be. Also, some of them may have different opinions and suggestions on how to deal with the case. While they may come up with the same conclusion, there could be potential conflicts along the way.

The Resident season 4 episode 4 also sees Devon Pravesh (Manish Dayal) deals with the sudden visit of his mother. On the other hand, Nic Nevin (Emily VanCamp) and Conrad Hawkins (Matt Czuchry) are trying to figure out how to deliver the big news for everyone.

Randolph Bell (Bruce Greenwood) finds a way to treat an over-eager fan of his show, while Mina Okafor (Shaunette Renee Wilson) makes a huge decision after realizing that her visa is expiring. The latter storyline is going to be a huge part of next week's episode, as well.

Based on the promo of The Resident season 4 episode 4, Mina made a bold move by telling AJ Austin (Malcolm-Jamal Warner) that she wants to marry him. It's apparent that they do have feelings for each other, but she likely proposed this to stay in the country.

Previously, executive producer Amy Holden told TV Insider what's coming for both Mina and AJ in the future. She noted that even though the two were an actual couple, everything won't be smooth sailing for them. Mina's problem will, particularly, become a major obstacle.

The Resident season 4 episode 4 is set to air Tuesday, Feb. 2, on Fox. The medical drama can also be streamed on DirecTV, YouTubeTV, Fubo, Hulu, Vudu, and Amazon Prime Video.
