Joe will finally return on the small screen in Megalobox Season 2. TMS Entertainment drops the second season's trailer, along with the returning cast and release date.

Megalobox Season 2 will be officially titled Megalobox 2: Nomad. However, instead of Joe, the next installment will be about Nomad this time.

The anime is the futuristic adaptation of Asao Takamori's iconic boxing manga series Ashita no Joe. It's made to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the classic series from the early 1970s.

Despite the burden of carrying Takamori's legacy, the anime has managed to be a success. When its debut season dropped back in 2018, it even became a major title of the year, Comicbook noted.

From here, TMS Entertainment revealed Megalobox Season 2 would be in the works. Now, the studio blessed fans with an official trailer, giving them a glimpse of what they might see in the new season.

The teaser showed the upcoming season's plot, and it would be about Nomad. So, who is Nomad?

According to Epic Dope, Joe was the champion of the Megalonia tournament, and he managed to do it in just three months, putting every boxing fan in awe. Known for not wearing any gears, he was then named "Gearless Joe."

However, Joe suddenly disappeared and only emerged after seven years. This time, he was using the name, Nomad.

He is now fighting in underground matches, and his body seems to be heavily injured. He now has a lot of gears fitted on his body altogether. Now, the questions Megalobox Season 2 may answer are why Joe disappeared and what made him come back.

In addition to the trailer, the second season's director You Moriyama also drops an official visual with a red backdrop and the words "Nomad of Nowhere." It puts Joe in a "very different light," hinting to feature a possible darker storyline with its dark tone.

Meanwhile, Season 1's original cast members are all up to reprise their roles in Megalobox Season 2. Fans will once again hear Yoshimasa Hosoya's voice as Joe/Nomad, Shiro Saito as Gansaku Nanbu, Hiroki Yasumoto as Yuri, and Michiyo Murase as Sachio, per Anime News Network.

Megalobox Season 2 or Megalobox 2: Nomad is set to be out in April on Tokyo MX and BS11. Its official release date is yet to be revealed, but fans who want to re-watch the first season can now stream it on Crunchyroll.
