The Black Clover anime is about to come to an end, but it looks like there are a lot of possibilities for its return. After the franchise's Twitter account revealed the news, it announced that a special announcement would come with the final episode.
The tweet's English translation said "a serious announcement" awaits fans on the same day Black Clover ends. So, what will happen to the anime series when it comes to a close?
According to Anime Troop, the anime is the only thing that will end while the manga continues. Manga fans know that the fights have just started, and there is no way it will end this soon.
The manga is currently featuring the Spade Kingdom arc, and the anime is about to reach this point. If their storylines happen to meet, Comicbook stressed the anime might be forced to go in another route of the canon or feature extensive filler arcs.
By the looks of it, Studio Pierrot doesn't want to take either of these two paths. So, it will just end the Black Clover anime.
However, as there are still manga materials that can be adapted, there may be a change of studio. With Bleach's return, Studio Pierrot may want to focus on this new project instead, though it may remain to helm the series once it is no longer busy.
It is also likely that the anime ends to avoid featuring filler arc or episode to keep its high quality, while some believe the story may continue in the form of a movie. Things are getting pretty intense in the manga with the Black Bulls and the Dark Triad's fights, which can be perfectly adapted into a film.
If that is not the case, another possible thing to happen is that the Black Clover anime will be seasonally released just like My Hero Academia. If this happens, it may start to adapt one or two arcs every year from the manga.
Meanwhile, aside from the "important announcement," Anime News Network noted Avex Pictures would also stream a live special of the final episode on its official YouTube channel. Indeed, the anime's ending comes as a huge shock.
Although it has a rough start, it has now become a massive hit. It doesn't only turn to be Studio Pierrot's lucrative project but also one of the highest-rated series on the TV Tokyo list.
Anyhow, as all good things come to an end, Black Clover is about to air its final episode, Episode 170, on Tuesday, March 30.
