This Is Us season 5 episode 8 is coming next week on NBC, with the title "In The Room." There is an important event coming for the Big Three: Kate Pearson (Chrissy Metz), Kevin Pearson (Justin Hartley), and Randall Pearson (Sterling K. Brown).
The synopsis of This Is Us season 5 episode 8 didn't provide further details on what this exact event could be. But, it notes that the Pearsons will be navigating "huge family milestones together, from a distance." It's yet to be seen what it is -- but yet the milestones were seemingly tied to the Big Three.
For Kate, she's still in pursuit of adopting a baby. She and her husband Toby Damon (Chris Sullivan) were ready to become adoptive parents. In the early episodes of the fifth installment, the two were in the process of adoption, though there are several challenges coming in their way.
Ellie is about to give birth to a baby girl, but that doesn't necessarily mean she'll give up her baby to Kate and Toby. There's a chance that she changed her mind and wants to keep her child now. While the flash-forward showed that the two have a daughter, there's no guarantee that the adoption was successful.
Meanwhile, there's also a potential milestone coming for Kevin in This Is Us season 5 episode 8. He's expecting twins with Madison Simons (Caitlin Thompson), who goes in labor in episode 7. There are uncertainties surrounding the storyline as the scene was cut off before she officially gives birth.
In the promo of This Is Us season 5 episode 8, Madison is still in labor and Kevin has yet to show up. It remains to be seen whether or not he made it on time. In the previous episode, he tried to get on board a plane but he was turned away before even reaching the gate.
As for Randall, he was last seen with his wife Beth (Susan Kelechi Watson) on their way home. The two spent some time in New Orleans to find out more about Randall's past. He particularly learned what his biological mother went through before. Now, the two will play an essential part in Madison's labor.
Based on the clip, Randall and Beth were helping Madison giving birth through a video call. The Pearsons seem to witness the process, as well. If ever Kevin didn't make it to the hospital, he may see the babies' arrival on a video call.
