River Where the Moon Rises is an upcoming South Korean historical-romance drama starring Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo. The series is just a few days away from premiering, and the two lead stars recently discussed their chemistry and working together for the second time.

River Where the Moon Rises tells the love story between Princess Pyeonggang (Kim So Hyun) and General On Dal (Ji Soo). The two will try to protect their love for each other, regardless of their fates. However, their love story gets twisted along the way.

Princess Pyeonggang was raised to be a person who killed a sinner -- also known as Yeom Ga Jin. She is an ambitious woman and wants to be the first female Taewand of Goguryeo. In order to get what she wants, she used General On Dal and his feelings for her to achieve her goals.

This is not the first time Kim So Hyun and Ji Soo worked together on a project. Back in 2016, the two starred together in a three-episode drama Page Turner. Now, viewers are looking forward to seeing the two again in River Where the Moon Rises.

Speaking about their chemistry, Kim So Hyun said that they got close really quick since it's their second time working together. She added that Ji Soo is bright and has a unique personality and that both of them had fun while filming the series.

The actor, on the other hand, said that he was able to film comfortably since it's their second time working together. He's also delighted to work with the actress for a longer time for River Where the Moon Rises since they only worked together for a short time in Page Turner.

Meanwhile, scriptwriter Han Ji Hoon shared his thoughts on the cast members. He said that Kim So Hyun showcased her different side of herself as a princess and as a warrior, while Ji Soo has a perfect visual and physical appearance in playing naïve, honest, and reckless On Dal.

Han Ji Hoon is also anticipating the two creating great chemistry. He said that it's the "most ideal casting" he ever imagined and lead stars are "120 percent in sync with their roles." In addition to the upcoming historical-romance drama, the scriptwriter also wrote Woman of 9.9 BillionWhite NightsLightTemptation, and Dr. Jin.

River Where the Moon Rises premieres on Monday, Feb. 15 at 9:30 PM KST, on KBS2.
