Princess Eugenie carefully thought out her baby's birth announcement to protect her father. Prince Andrew, the Duke of York.
According to a royal expert, Eugenie didn't want to draw attention to Andrew, so she confirmed her baby's birth in an unusual way.
The princess posted her newborn son's first photo on her personal Instagram account by just showing the baby's hand holding the fingers of Eugenie and her husband, Jack Brooksbank. Royal expert Ingrid Seward said that it was easier to share this kind of photo to the public because it won't bring an embarrassment to her father.
Andrew stepped down from his royal roles in November 2019 and has not been seen at public events since due to his controversial association with the deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. When Eugenie's sister Princess Beatrice got married to Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi in July 2020, Andrew had no public photo as the father of the bride. However, Seward also said that grandparents are traditionally rarely photographed with royal newborns unless it is the baby's christening.
Eugenie and Jack have not yet announced the name of their son. The baby is Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's ninth great-grandson and the 11th in line to the throne after his mother.
The Brooksbanks were seen leaving Portland Hospital in London on Friday with the mother looking after her baby in the carrier on the backseat. Reports noted that the new mom was beaming as she waved to the people who saw them driving out of the hospital.
According to Us Weekly, the Brooksbank family is now home in Frogmore Cottage, the house of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Blood cousins Harry and Eugenie have discussed the Brooksbanks' living arrangement in October 2020.
Experts said that Eugenie and Jack chose to stay at the Sussex house to raise their baby in a country home, away from the bustle in London. They also have a house in Kensington Palace's Ivy Cottage. However, since Harry and Meghan have been living in the U.S. for close to a year and won't likely be back in a while, the Sussex pair have agreed to let their cousins stay in Frogmore.
Meanwhile, Daily Mail reported that within minutes of the baby's birth, Jack's company issued a statement to inform the press that Eugenie's husband's job title is the European Brand Director of Casamigos Tequila. The liquor company is co-founded by Hollywood star George Clooney.
Jack was promoted in his role a month after his wedding to Eugenie in September 2018. He started working for Casamigos in 2016.
