Fans now cast their different theories and predictions for Attack on Titan Chapter 138. This will serve as the penultimate chapter for the manga series, and it may finally focus more on Eren and the possible continuation of the Rumbling.
Readers and avid followers alike are patiently waiting for a big reveal about Eren since he has been missing in action for the last few chapters. As he may come out in Attack on Titan Chapter 138, there may be a surprising turn of events where he may use the Warhammer Titan cable to resume the Rumbling.
After Zeke's death has stopped the Rumbling, there is a famous theory that Eren will resume it. Allegedly, Eren is somewhere hiding on the Paradis Island, controlling everything using the Warhammer Titan cable.
This only means he is not inside the Founding Titan, so he is not affected by the explosion. According to BlockToro, the Warhammer Titan is the only Titan with a cable so that it can be controlled remotely by the user.
So, there are also assumptions that Eren is controlling every Titan through the said cable, and it may be revealed in Attack on Titan Chapter 138. Knowing that the war will be over if he gets killed or caught, Eren comes up with the perfect plan to stay in hiding.
The alliance may see a long cable connected to the Warhammer Titan, though it can also be just a way to the Paths. In addition, there are also predictions that Eren will use Historia's baby, who inherits Zeke's power to continue the Rumbling.
Comicbook noted that it had been Eren's goal to perform a total genocide, though it seemed to be a "pipe dream." Zeke turned his back from Eren, which meant he already lost his "minions to boot."
The huge explosion that happened in Chapter 137 made everyone believed Eren had met his demise. However, there was no way that Hajime Isayama would end this character without doing a proper, emotional goodbye. Though it might be too late for him to ask for redemption, the mangaka might have something up his sleeve.
Attack on Titan Chapter 138 will be the make or break of the series as the second-to-the-last installment. It will drop on Tuesday, March 9, while the finale chapter is expected to be out in April, per HITC.
