Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are bound for a long separation in the coming months as the Duke of Sussex is preparing to return home to London, without his wife and son.

It will be the first time for Harry to be back home since moving to California in March 2020. Sources told Heat World that the Sussex couple are feeling quite nervous about this trip as they have never lived apart from each other for months before.

Harry and Meghan's separation will be longer because the Duke of Sussex will have to comply with the quarantine requirements before and after his travels. Apparently, he will be at least two months away from Meghan and Archie.

The source also said that Meghan is "adamant" to remain in California because of work. The Duchess of Sussex also wants to avoid the potential negative press she'll get if she joins her husband in London, which will away the focus from the real reason Harry has to be home.

Harry is expected to fly before June 10 for the 100th birthday of his grandfather, Prince Philip. He'll also stay on for the Trooping the Colour parade for Queen Elizabeth, which will take place on June 12, and he will likely stay until July for the unveiling of the statue of his beloved mom, Princess Diana, at Kensington Palace.

The Duke of Sussex's return will also give him a chance to speak to Queen Elizabeth face-to-face and work out their exit deal with the Palace. In 2020, the Queen said that Meghan and Harry's status with The Firm will be reassessed after a year.

However, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams believes that this re-assessment will be done virtually if travel restrictions won't ease off by the end of March. According to the expert, the Palace has discouraged any travels just for this specific purpose. Things could pick up by the end of spring when the special events are due to take place.

Sources think that Harry would still want the face-to-face meeting with Queen Elizabeth when he's back in the U.K. This is because the Duke of Sussex is determined to keep his military roles, which were put on hold until after the reassessment.

However, Harry and Meghan will not be resuming their royal roles and return to The Firm as they have set their roots in California with a new house, a new foundation (Archewell), and several high-profile media deals. They had plan on expanding their personal financial wealth when they left the royal fold. Their arrangement with Netflix is for five years, with the first shows out in 2021.
