Prince Harry had rugby and royal fans thrilled after he appeared in a surprise video to mark England Rugby's 150th anniversary but his biographer observed that the Duke of Sussex has quite the "sad eyes" in his recent appearances.

In a post on Twitter, @EnglandRugby shared Harry's video clip, which was filmed from his home in Montecito, California with Meghan Markle. He said that he is joining "millions of supporters" in celebrating the team's 150 years. The duke also noted that sports like rugby bring "great comfort" during this time of isolation.

Fans commented in the post to say that Harry looks great with his California tan while some wondered when he's coming back to England. The Duke of Sussex has been in the United States since March 2020 with Meghan Markle. However, he said in a previous interview that he would have been home earlier if not for the pandemic and the travel restrictions.

A few days before the release of this England Rugby video, Harry also appeared in a video clip to announce the postponement of the Invictus Games to 2022. But his former biographer Angela Levin pitied the Duke of Sussex's appearance. Levin posted on Twitter that Harry "has such sad eyes."

TV presenter and frequent Sussex critic Piers Morgan wrote in a piece on Daily Mail that it's not a "massive surprise"to read reports of Harry's alleged unhappiness in the U.S. He said that the young man who was once "cheery, cheeky and who never took life seriously" has been reduced to making angry statements, filing lawsuits, or "hypocritically lecturing" the public.

It comes as Harry and Meghan are up for a review with Queen Elizabeth following a year since they've dropped the bomb and said that they were quitting their royal roles and moving to the U.S. Reports cited that the sixth in line to the British throne will fight to keep his honorary military roles, which was one of the issues put on hold after the Sussex pair's exit.

When Harry and Meghan left, the Duke of Sussex also had to give up being the Captain General of the Royal Marines, the Honorary Air Commandant of Royal Air Force, and the Commodore-in-Chief of the Small Ships and Diving in the Royal Naval Command. Queen Elizabeth hasn't re-assigned any other royal in these posts pending the Megxit review.

Harry has made it clear that he remains committed to the military, as a former serviceman, despite his new life in the U.S. However, senior royal aides at Buckingham Palace said that what Harry wants will be impossible since such roles are only for working royals who can be physically at military events in the U.K.
