The Rookie season 3 episode 6 is going to bring a new challenge for Officer John Nolan (Nathan Fillion). He's been doing whatever is necessary to be the best cop over the past years despite being the older rookie at the LAPD. Now, he is going back to school to learn more about his job and the things that come along with it.
The Rookie season 3 episode 6 marks a significant change in Nolan's career as he returns to the classroom. This is a new era for him and this won't be an easy one. Yet, he is determined to do this in order to prove to everyone that he's capable of doing his job.
Nolan wants to be a training office so he decided to go back to school. He has been proving himself to everyone ever since he arrived in the department. He already faced difficult challenges and was even framed during the season 3 premiere. Now, he's eager to take his career path to the next level.
This storyline is different from the previous ones as it does not follow a specific case-of-the-week scenario. Instead, it focuses on a certain character wherein features the challenges and struggles in the job. Nolan wants to become a training officer as he recognized this is a way to advance his career.
Also, the event that transpired in episode 5 was another reason why he decided to make a huge step in his future. He saw what Officer Jackson West (Titus Marking Jr.) went through with Officer Doug Stanton (Brandon Routh). He decided to be a training officer to teach future cops what is right and wrong. His goal is to make a change and teach them the right way of doing things.
A familiar face is joining Fillion's character in The Rookie season 3 episode 6, as well. Castle alum Toks Olagundoye is set to appear and she will be playing the role of Professor Ryan. However, it remains to be seen how long she's going to stay in the police procedural.
As for what else is coming in The Rookie season 3 episode 6, Officer Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil) is considering going into undercover work. Her decision to do this was rooted when she got a taste of the job after helping the former colleague of Officer Nyla Harper (Mekia Cox).
