It looks like fans have to officially say goodbye to Hori and Miyamura as Horimiya manga is about to end in March with Chapter 122. Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy magazine announced that the much-awaited chapter would be its final installment.
Fans have been waiting for Horimiya Chapter 122 since last year. After three months, they will finally see what will happen next to Hori and Miyamura, though it will be the last time they can read their story.
According to Spoiler Guy, the manga will be on the cover of the March issue of Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy. It will also come with a color opening page.
Yen Press handles the publishing of the manga in English, telling the story of the famous high school girl, Hori. At first glance, others will find her frivolous, but she's simple, pragmatic, and family-oriented in personal.
She will then meet the average and gloomy high school fanboy Miyamura. Despite being ordinary, it can't be denied that he's an attractive young man with a bad-boy image, covered with piercings and tattoos.
When these two meet in a classroom, they will have random run-ins outside of the class that will begin a brewing romance in Horimiya.
The manga started serializing in Square Enix's Monthly G Fantasy in 2011, Anime News Network noted. It serves as an adaptation of HERO's Hori-san to Miyamura-kun four-panel school comedy manga.
So far, Square Enix has published 15th compiled book volume as of September 2020. Yen Press, on the other hand, published its 14th volume in July 2020.
Its popularity has given birth to an anime series that premiered in Japan early this year and aired on Funimation. It now has an English dub that debuted on February 5.
As the anime is now on its seventh episode, fans are now waiting for Horimiya Season 2, per Epic Stream. However, it has yet to receive a renewal, but there are high expectations for it.
The first season has covered until Chapter 64 of the manga series. Hence, it still has enough source materials to continue the second season.
If this happens, fans will see the continuation of Hori and Miyamura's love story, which is yet to unfold. Hagiwara's brainchild also has a live-action series and movie adaptations in Japan.
Horimiya Chapter 122 will be out on Thursday, March 18.
