A Million Little Things season 3 episode 5 is arriving within a few weeks on ABC. The family drama has been on hiatus since December 2020 and it will feature a relevant story when it returns. The upcoming episode focuses on real-life events, particularly the current global health crisis.

While the first few episodes featured personal storylines, A Million Little Things season 3 episode 5 is going to be a pandemic-themed story. Titled "Non-Essential," most of the characters will be dealing with the impact of the virus. Each of them faces their own struggles because of the current situation.

Just like other shows, the series is opting to deliver a story focusing on the current global health crisis. Most of the characters were already dealing with their problems. Now, everything becomes even harder due to the pandemic and the situation could potentially impact their decisions.

According to the synopsis of A Million Little Things season 3 episode 5, the virus becomes more widespread across the United States. Due to the current health crisis, Boston went into lockdown and it affects the lives of everyone in the city.

Rome (Romany Malco) is working on his latest movie but it was put in jeopardy because of the outbreak. Maggie (Allison Miller), on the other hand, decided to go back home after spending some time at Oxford. Now that she returns, her relationship with Jamie (Chris Meere) will be further explored.

Maggie also needs to deal with some familiar faces -- particularly her ex-boyfriend, Gary (James Roday Rodriguez), who struggled to give her what she needs. Since she's back in the town, things between them will be more complicated, especially with the presence of his new lady, Darcy's (Floriana Lima).

Maggie and Gary also talked about something before the current installment goes on a winter break. They might be forced to face whatever is happening around them now. But, perhaps, Eddie (David Giuntoli) is the most affected in A Million Little Things season 3 episode 5.

Eddie won't be able to get the treatment that he wanted as the hospitals were overwhelmed with patients. His back surgery got cancelled which leads him to take desperate measures to ease the severe pain. He may likely go back on his old habits in order to cope with what he's currently dealing with.

A Million Little Things season 3 episode 5 will be airing on Thursday, March 11, on ABC.
