Lee Jong Suk participated in a recent pictorial for the March issue of Elle. During the interview, the actor shared what he's up to at the moment. He said that he's preparing to show a "great performance" to meet fans' expectations as they've been waiting for his return.

When it comes to his upcoming projects, Lee Jong Suk discussed his special appearance in The Witch sequel. He revealed that his connection with Park Hoon Jung, who also directed V.I.P., made him agree and do it. The actor also described his character in the upcoming film.

He noted that it is a "three-dimensional character" that is "hard to define in a single word." Then, he shared that this particular project is the reason why he's growing his hair for the first time. He explained that he wanted to portray a different image -- which he hasn't played before.

The actor is known for his charming roles and boyish looks in several series such as Romance Is a Bonus Book, While You Were Sleeping, Pinocchio, and I Can Hear Your Voice. Since he's been absent in the industry for about two years, his fans were excited to see him coming back to the screen.

As for his other projects beyond his appearance in The Witch sequel, Lee Jong Suk commented that his goal is to do the things he never experienced before. The actor said that he wanted to play a character that his fans will like.

He further noted that he is open to the "possibility of acting in diverse genres and platforms" instead of following the changing times. At the moment, the actor is in talks to star in the upcoming film titled Decibel, alongside Park Byung Eun, Jung Sang Hoon, and Kim Rae Won.

Meanwhile, Lee Jong Suk began his mandatory military enlistment in March 2019 and was discharged in January 2021. His first official activity after was a pictorial and interview with Esquire Korea, where he reflects on his military service.

He said that his military service was like a break to him since he's always thinking about his works and upcoming activities. The actor noted that he felt relaxed because he was able to let go of those concerns, and all he did was to do his tasks.

When asked what he specifically remembered during his enlistment, Lee Jong Suk said he became interested in social welfare since he's a public service worker. He also revealed he thought about getting social welfare certificate during his military service, but he gave up due to his working hours on site.
