Life under the royal spotlight was bad for Prince Harry's mental health so he left the U.K. for his sanity but he was criticized for saying this because his brother, Prince William, stayed put under the same spotlight.

Royal photographer Arthur Edwards said that William, as well as Prince Charles, coped under the very same pressureHarry mentioned in his interview with James Corden on The Late Late Show. Edwards also said that Harry used to hang out with the members of the media before he got married and recalled moments when a "friendly Harry" made tea for him, suggesting that he had a good relationship with the press.

But that changed when things "got into his head." Edwards said he doesn't believe it's the media pressure that made Harry unwell because it didn't affect his brother or father. While Harry "ran off" to Los Angeles with Meghan Markle, William and Charles coped despite being the subject of negative reports.

In his interview, Harry said that he did the best thing he could do for himself, his wife and his family, as a husband and a father, and that was to leave a toxic environment. The segment was filmed before Harry and Meghan confirmed to the Queen that they have decided not to return to their royal work and continue their life in the U.S. with their new foundation, Archewell. The Queen decided that she will have to take back Harry and Meghan's royal patronages and Harry's military roles, which have been part of their work.

Harry, however, disagreed with the perception that he walked away from his royal duties and his own family. The Duke of Sussex said that he's only "stepping back" because he will still keep contributing. The royal said that public service will always be his life and that Meghan understood what she signed up for when they got married.

Harry also shared that anyone who would be dating a member of the royal family would be "flipped upside down." However, he and Meghan were able to spend an "enormous amount of time just the two of us" when they were dating and they got to know each other deeper.

After Harry, Meghan will also have her own interview with Oprah Winfrey on March 7 on CBS. The 90-minute feature will be the first time the Duchess of Sussex will speak about her life after leaving the royal fold in early 2020.
