Jumanji 4 is confirmed to be in development. The fantasy-adventure film was first introduced in 1995 starring the late Robin Williams. Then, the franchise was revived in 2017 and 2019, with the title Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level, respectively.

At the moment, only a few details were known about Jumanji 4. Fans of the original movie were concerned about the project when the revival of the franchise was first announced. But, Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was received well by critics and fans alike, leading to Jumanji: The Next Level.

The third installment opened more stories to the upcoming movie, as the game is back to the real world -- which is the premise of the original film. The end credits of Jumanji: The Next Level saw the animals and characters from the video game thrust into reality.

However, there is no confirmation that another movie is happening after the third film concluded. Now, the good news is that Jumanji 4 is coming at some point. President of Production at Seven Bucks Productions, Hiram Garcia, discussed the future of the franchise in a recent interview.

Garcia said that the fourth film is "100 percent taking place," though he made it clear that it is still in the early stages of development. All of them seem to be interested to continue the franchise and the team is dedicated to making things bigger and better in the upcoming movie.

Garcia further added that they've been discussing the project and conversations about it have been going on. He didn't reveal what are their plans in the next installment, but he teased that they have "big plans" since this is one of their favorite projects.

Meanwhile, the original cast members from the first two movies are likely returning in Jumanji 4. That means Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan, and Jack Black are all coming back in the next film. However, there is a question regarding the latter's status due to his apparent retirement from acting.

Although he didn't confirm he's saying goodbye to his career, Black previously said that Jumanji: The Next Level might be his final project. The actor played the role of Professor Sheldon "Shelly" Oberon, an expert in the scientific field and cartography.

The official release date of Jumanji 4 is unknown as of this writing. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and Jumanji: The Next Level arrived in December 2017 and December 2019, respectively. If the next film follows this pattern, a December release is possible -- though a 2021 schedule is said to be unlikely.
