The coming of One Punch Man Season 3 is still a big mystery, almost two years after fans last saw Saitama on the small screen. Several theories now surround the next installment, but will it ever see the light of the day?

There are no official updates about One Punch Man Season 3 yet--either renewal or cancellation news. It looks like fans have to get used to a long waiting game to see Saitama's next adventure from the manga to the anime.

According to BlockToro, the new season is expected to continue Saitama's heroic acts. He will be facing new villains in the series from the Monster Association.

One of them is Garou, and there are rumors he may be the last villain Saitama has to face. However, there may be a huge twist happening.

Based on the manga series, One Punch Man Season 3 has a lot of storylines to adapt. This includes the plot where Garou takes a particular medicine to give him additional powers that Saitama may find hard to defeat.

His trademark of beating an enemy down in a single punch will not take effect on Garou. However, it remains to be seen if this will make it through to the anime series.

Will fans see a battle between Garou and Saitama? Will the writers still work on a new season?

Devdiscourse noted a lot of factors as to why the creators would have to do One Punch Man Season 3. It has been known that the series has a cult following, but it, reportedly, gained millions of fans more after Season 2's release, thanks to the power of social media.

The manga series has 23 volumes, and only seven of them were used for the first season and nine volumes for the second season. This simply means that there are seven volumes left for the third season to adapt.

The manga creator Yusuke Murata is also continuously working on the series. So, it's maybe safe to assume that there are enough materials for a third installment.

Meanwhile, despite the lack of announcements, fans expect One Punch Man Season 3 to come out anytime this year. However, with no hints or even teasers about it, it looks like it's far from happening, per The Cinetalk.

They're now hoping it will come out in 2022, though it still seems to be farfetched. As it took four years before the second season dropped following the first season's release, the two-year waiting may not be enough.

If the third season has the same fate as the second, fans may likely see Saitama's return on TV around 2023.
