New Amsterdam season 3 episode 4 is coming next week on NBC, with the title "This Is All I Need." Dr. Max Goodwin (Ryan Eggold) is about to make a huge decision that could impact his life in a huge way. This time, he has to decide what's really best for his daughter, Luna.
According to the synopsis of New Amsterdam season 3 episode 4, Max traveled to Connecticut to bring back Luna to New York. However, he started to hesitate and questioned his instincts when he saw his daughter with her grandparents.
Max wanted to be with Luna during the pandemic -- but there are risks that come with it. The safety of his daughter, in particular, is going to be one of his top priorities. He is also doing his best to make the hospital a safe place amidst the lockdown, though he recognized that there are challenges on the way.
Perhaps, Max will choose to let Luna live with her grandparents while there's still uncertainty in the situation. Although it might be hard for him to be away from his daughter, he also knows this is the best way that he can do to keep her safe during the pandemic.
As for what else is coming in New Amsterdam season 3 episode 4, Dr. Lauren Bloom (Janet Montgomery) is doing whatever is necessary to make her staff feel safe. Dr. Floyd Reynolds (Jocko Sims), on the other hand, is taking a backseat in the cardiac unit.
Reynolds returned in episode 3, where he helped in the operation of a former colleague. The cardiovascular surgeon moved to San Francisco in the season 2 finale with his fiance, Evie (Margot Bingham). He came back to help Dr. Vijay Kapoor (Anupam Kher), who suffered due to COVID-19.
The promo of the upcoming episode saw Max greeting Reynolds, saying: "The Duke of Hearts returns". While most of the doctors were delighted to have him back, not everyone is happy to work with him. Some of them might feel threatened since he's at the hospital again.
Meanwhile, New Amsterdam season 3 episode 4 also sees Dr. Helen Sharpe (Freema Agyeman) finding it hard to lean on Dr. Cassian Shin (Daniel Dae Kim) while handling a family emergency. At the moment, it is unclear whether or not the two will end up together.
After all, some have been rooting for Sharpe and Max. But then, the biggest problem is that they have personal issues that must be settled first. This complicated love triangle between the three will continue to play out as the story progresses.
