Stargirl season 2 is bringing new faces once it arrives within a few months on The CW. Some major villains, in particular, are going to show up and will be a huge threat for Courtney Whitmore a.k.a. the titular superhero (Brec Bassinger), and the rest of the Justice Society of America (JSA).

One of the major adversaries in Stargirl season 2 is Eclipso, which will be played by Nick Tarabay. Series creator/executive producer Geoff Johns teased during the New York Comic-Con that the character is terrifying and different from other members of the Injustice Society of America (ISA).

The first look at Eclipso's appearance has been unveiled. The official Twitter account of the series shared a photo of the character who looks like an Ancient Villain. His arrival has already been tased eat the end of the first installment, thanks to Cindy Burman/Shiv (Meg DeLacy).

In the season 1 finale, Cindy seemed to awaken Eclipso after stealing his life essence inside a blue diamond originally owned by the ISA. Now she has it in her hands, this is going to be a huge problem for the JSA members since he'll be manifesting his physical form in Stargirl season 2.

Eclipso is an "ancient entity of corruption and vengeance." He is even more terrifying and dangerous because he can expose the flaws of other people. Based on the photo, he has a creepy appearance which is somewhat similar to his comic counterpart.

But, aside from Eclipso, another villain is coming in Stargirl season 2. Jonathan Cake is set to play the recurring role of The Shade, who's a former member of the ISA. The character was already referenced in the first season and he's arriving to cause chaos.

Just like Eclipso, The Shade is also a terrifying and dangerous villain. He is an English immortal who possesses magical powers. He is said to be the most powerful and threatening of them all, and no one really knows what he wants.

The Shade is described as "slim, tall, and has an elegant 19th century way to his speech and manners." This character has been through a lot but he doesn't want to show it to everyone. He masks his experiences through a false sense that nothing matters at all.

Stargirl season 2 official release date hasn't been set but it is confirmed to be premiering in Summer on The CW.
