Riverdale season 5 episode 9 is coming next week on The CW, with the title "Destroyer." Archie (KJ Apa), Veronica (Camila Mendes), Jughead (Cole Sprouse), and Betty (Lili Reinhart) will continue doing whatever they can to save Riverdale High, as well as the entire community.
In Riverdale season 5 episode 9, Archie and Veronica will be working together to boost the morale of the students and find the school spirit when the Bulldogs lose several football games. They're going to save what else is left even though they know it's a tough process.
Riverdale High fell apart over the past years, particularly after they graduated. The school is not the same seven years ago, and it's on the verge of closing down for good. So, Archie, Veronica, and others try to figure out how to rebuild what was lost and find a way to bring back its old spirit.
However, doing it is harder than they've imagined since there are people out there who'll do everything to close it down. The good thing is that they have other resources now that they're adults -- unlike when they were still teenagers. They're going to fight back from the threats surrounding the community.
In addition to working together, it looks like Archie and Veronica's old flame ignites again in Riverdale season 5 episode 9. The latter's marriage with Chad Gekko (Chris Mason) is on the rocks and the former admitted that he still has feelings for his ex-girlfriend.
In episode 8, Betty and Archie decided to call it off as he confessed that he's in love with Veronica until now. Later on, Veronica visited Archie and told him that she's divorcing Chad. The two, then, shared a kiss hinting that they're going to rekindle their romance.
Elsewhere in Riverdale season 5 episode 9, Jughead focuses on a student who might be needing his help. Betty, on the other hand, will be dealing with her own problem. She turns to Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) and asks for guidance after facing a difficult decision.
Based on the promo, Betty takes a stand and will fight harder to ensure the safety of women in the town. But, along the way, her dark side resurfaced -- something that she's been dealing with in the past. It seems like she's going to make an unexpected move to protect those who are in danger.
Riverdale season 5 episode 9 airs on Wednesday, March 24, on The CW. The episode is directed by Rob Seidenglanz and written by Ace Hasan.
