Riverdale season 5 episode 6 will see the Core Four returning at the Riverdale High -- but not as students. Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes) came back as the new teachers of their Alma Mater.
Riverdale season 5 episode 6 is titled "Back To School," which is a reference to the Core Four becoming teachers in Riverdale High. It can be noted that the teen drama had a seven-year time jump in episode 4, but some of the familiar locations in the past will still be featured.
Archie, Jughead, Betty, and Veronica are now living their lives as adults. However, they reunited after years of being apart to save the school. The Core Four recognized that their Alma Mater is on the verge of closing down and they'll try to do whatever they can to prevent this from happening.
This is the major reason why they decided to take the role of the newest teachers in Riverdale season 5 episode 6. But then, saving the school won't be entirely easy as some hurdles are coming along the way. For instance, Veronica's husband, Chad Gekko (Chris Mason), unexpectedly showed up in town.
Veronica introduces him to the group, but it seems like the situation might be complicated because of his presence. Chad gets jealous easily and he may not agree with the idea that his wife is hanging out again with her old friends -- especially with her ex-boyfriend.
Apart from that, they're also having problems when it comes to money. Archie and Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) realized that they are running out of funds and they won't be able to restart the football and cheer teams. So, they turned to Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) for help.
It's yet to be seen whether or not Cheryl will help them. Many years already passed and some things about her changed. After all, she's also a student of Riverdale High before and the cheerleading team was important to her. Hence, she could help them in rebuilding their Alma Mater.
Elsewhere in Riverdale season 5 episode 6, Betty, her mother Alice Cooper (Mädchen Amick), and Kevin Keller (Casey Cott) follow a lead that may point them to Polly Cooper's (Tiera Skovbye) location. They realized that her sister might be in trouble and they must rescue her before it's too late.
Riverdale season 5 episode 6 airs on Wednesday, Feb. 24, on The CW. The episode is directed by Gabriel Correa and written by Ariana Jackson.
