Riverdale season 5 episode 3 will be delivering the originally-planned season 4 finale, "Graduation." This was supposed to be the major conclusion of the previous installment but was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The title itself suggests that the teens are about to enter a new phase of their life.
Riverdale season 5 episode 3 is a major milestone for the Core Four: Archie Andrews (KJ Apa), Betty Cooper (Lili Reinhart), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse ), and Veronica Lodge (Camila Mendes). The Graduation Day will be a huge event for them and the rest of the teens at Riverdale High.
However, that doesn't necessarily mean that everything is smooth sailing for them. The gang tries to figure out what would be their next step after graduating high school. Some of them may decide to leave the town and start a new life elsewhere.
For Archie, he learns whether or not he'll be able to graduate with others. He has been through a lot during his high school years and has dealt with a lot of struggles. Now that Graduation Day is around the corner, he'll figure out what he wants for his future.
Elsewhere in Riverdale season 5 episode 3, FP Jones (Skeet Ulrich) is about to make a tough decision about his and his daughter's, Jellybean's (Trinity Likins), future. It can be noted that Ulrich is leaving this season, and this episode could serve as a farewell for his character.
Meanwhile, the mysteries surrounding the town might get solved here. A lot of things happened to everyone, with the teens investigating several murders. Given that they're individually moving on with their lives, most of them may just want to forget whatever they experienced.
Riverdale season 5 episode 3 marks a significant change for the Core Four, as well as the story. After "Graduation," the teen drama will have a seven-year time jump. Each of them goes in a significant direction, leaving everything behind.
But while the time jump serves as a reset for them, they're set to return to the town after seven long years. The title of episode 4 is "Purgatorio," and it'll see Archie coming back to Riverdale only to find out that it's on the verge of becoming a ghost town. New mysteries will likely emerge from here.
Riverdale season 5 episode 3 airs on Wednesday, Feb. 3, on The CW. The episode is directed by Gabriel Correa and written by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
