Fans will again see Asakura Yoh in the return of Shaman King 2021. The reboot will bring viewers once more to the world of the Shamans and Asakura's journey to be the next king.

Shaman King 2021 will bring major nostalgia 20 years after it first hit the TV screen. From the cast to plot details to the broadcast information and others, here is everything you need to know.

The series takes place in the world where extraordinary people called Shamans live. They possess the ability to talk to the spirits, making them the gods of the planet.

It centers on Asakura, a Shaman in training, and his journey to becoming the next Shaman King. He will join the Shaman Fight, a tournament that only occurs every 500 years, CBR noted.

It's a brutal competition that lets the spiritualists from different cultures around the world go against each other to make the Great Spirit. This will be their personal companion to shape the world as they see fit in Shaman King 2021.

Asakura will get the help of his fiancée Ann Kyoyama, his spirit partner Amidamaru, best friend Manta, and other Shamans he will meet along the way to hone his skills. He needs to do everything he can to have enough strength and power to prevent the mighty but evil Hao from winning the tournament and create a world where only Shamans could exist.

According to Epic Dope, most of the series' original Japanese voice cast members will return to reprise their roles in the reboot.

Fans will once again hear Katsuyuki Konishi as Amidamaru, Megumi Hayashibara as Anna Kyoyama, and Yuji Ueda as Horohoro in Shaman King 2021. AniTrendz added Youko Hikasa would join the show as Asakura, Inuko Inuyama as Manta, Romi Park as Tao Ren, and Kousuke Takaguchi as Bason.

The series will also feature Masahiko Tanaka's voice as Ryuunosuke, Wataru Takagi as Tokagerou, and Minami Yakayama as Hao.

Meanwhile, the franchise already dropped its official trailer earlier this month. It gave a glimpse of Asakura, Anna, Tao Ren, and other leading stars, explaining the shamans' purpose and the Shaman fight.

In another promotional video, it revealed the reboot's new opening theme, called "Soul Salvation" by Hayashibara.

Shaman King 2021 will premiere on Thursday, April 1, in Japan. The international audience will also have the chance to see it on different streaming websites, like Netflix, though the network is yet to reveal its exact release date.
