Jujutsu Kaisen Season 1 is about to end, making fans wonder what will happen in the series' future. With its success, viewers are looking forward to the making of Season 2, but they may get more than that--a movie.

There are swirling rumors that there will be an anime movie adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen after news broke a new website domain has been registered for a possible new film. However, either Viz Media or MAPPA is yet to confirm this news, so will this happen?

According to Epic Dope, Gege Akutami's manga sales incredibly grow after the anime started airing. Hence, if there will be a movie adaptation, it can generate more profit from it, maximizing its fame.

However, its success still depends on the arc that it's going to adapt. One of its most famous arcs is the Shibuya Incident Arc, which is currently ongoing on its manga series.

Fans worldwide appreciate this arc's major turn of events, so it may be the perfect arc for the Jujutsu Kaisen movie to adapt. It may also feature an original story that will connect the first and second seasons, just like the My Hero Academia and Naruto movies.

If fans expect to see a compilation of the first season in a movie, this may be far from happening. Viewers are also not fond of compilation films, so this may turn into a flop.

Anyhow, as Akutami, Viz Media, or MAPPA is yet to announce anything, fans should only take these assumptions with a grain of salt. The anime series is about to end this week, and with Anime Japan 2021 coming, there may be an announcement happening.

Comicbook noted that Jujutsu Kaisen had an official prequel series, a canon of the Shibuya Incident arc. It may be part of the second season, whether or not the alleged movie adapts this material.

Although it may be a perfect idea to turn this event into a big anime movie, it may lack the leading fan-favorite trio Megumi, Itadori, and Nobara. Meanwhile, aside from the rumored film adaptation, fans are also waiting for the official announcement of the second season's coming.

MBS recently held a remote session to reveal its new programming schedule for the spring season, per Anime News Network. Here, Chief Programming Director Hajime Yokota thanked everyone for Jujutsu Kaisen's success and popularity during the late-night Super Animeism programming block and streaming.

Anyhow, when asked about the possible Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, Yokota said they have no "concrete information about it at the moment."
