Chanyeol of EXO has stolen the global scene on various social media channels. On Monday, several hashtags relating to the K-Pop idol trended following the surge of support and love for the artist.

This comes after he officially enlisted himself as an active-duty soldier to South Korea's military. Consequently, he has now temporarily retired from his projects and stints in the world of South Korean entertainment.

AllKpop released a report on the global event, wherein EXO-Ls shared tons of messages about Chanyeol's enlistment on Twitter. As noted, the fandom has been able to obtain over 1.2 million tweets, causing different hashtags to trend worldwide.

The hashtags include "Our Pride CHANYEOL" and "Always Yours Chanyeol." Most of the posts that utilized these tags are, reportedly, "emotional." Many netizens bid their "goodbyes" and shared words of encouragement as the EXO member leaves the group to serve his country.

Other Twitter users, also, seemingly assured the K-Pop idol that his fans will wait for him until he returns from the service. Some even stated that they will miss him, adding that he should take care of himself.

The publication said that Chanyeol is the fifth member of the group to serve the military. He will return to the public scene after a year and a half, which will be in September 2022.

Aside from the emotional posts, several fans and followers celebrated Chanyeol's successes, as well. This comes after the EXO member has reached new heights in his career following the release of his highly anticipated film, The Box.

Bandwagon Asia reported that the film, which Yang Jung Woong directed and Studio Take produced, debuted at the "top of the South Korean box office" on Wednesday. It has since maintained its standing on the chart, and many are expecting it to stay on top of the movie lists.

The Box will premiere in other 11 countries around the globe. The timeline will start on April 1 in Singapore, April 7 in Indonesia, and April 8 in Malaysia.

Following Chanyeol's footsteps, Baekhyun will be the next EXO member to enlist into the military. The City Lights artist recently confirmed his enlistment in a live broadcast on Instagram.

While the fandom already had speculations that he will enlist himself this year, the confirmation earlier last week still came as a surprise. Baekhyun said that the end of the month will be the "final date" for him to push back his service. This is why he had not scheduled anything for the month of April.

Before he leaves for the country's military, though, the EXO member said that he has been preparing for his mini-album, Bambi, which will drop on March 30. Alongside this, he revealed that they are gearing up, as well, for the release of SuperM's and his group's albums.
