Paul McCartney is honoring his late wife Linda by including her meatless recipes in a new family cookbook.

The Beatles legend is due to launch "Linda McCartney's Family Kitchen: Over 90 Plant-Based Recipes to Save the Planet and Nourish the Soul" with his daughters, fashion designer Stella McCartney and photographer Mary McCartney.

The trio has updated singer Linda's favorite vegetarian dishes, including shepherd's pie, chili non-carne, 'sausage' rolls, and American-style pancakes, and has shared personal photos and stories from the family kitchen alongside the recipes.

According to a news release, the book will feature a collection of Linda's best-loved recipes reimagined for the modern cook, and will "bring Linda's kitchen up to date, reinventing her best-loved recipes for the plant-based cook, alongside their favorite family stories and the dishes that they now eat at home".

Over the years, the 78-year-old singer has sought to persuade others to adopt a vegetarian diet after previously excluding animal food items from his rider.

The meat-free demands were allegedly part of Paul's terms and conditions when he performed in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan in 2013, he wouldn't perform until show organizers confirmed no meat would be consumed backstage.

He made a similar request in 2002 during his "Driving" USA tour, saying he didn't want any furniture in his dressing room to be made of animals.

In addition to Linda's old favorites, Paul and his girls have given their own twists on some dinnertime favorites, such as pulled jackfruit burgers, pad Thai, and crunchy pecan cookies.

Linda's inspiration lives in Paul and their two daughters. The three family members launched Meat Free Monday in 2009, and the movement has since spread internationally, encouraging people to remove meat from their diets one step at a time.

Linda's family hopes that her recipes and the stories that accompany them will encourage others to make the same change they did.

"Linda McCartney's Family Kitchen: Over 90 Plant-Based Recipes to Save the Planet and Nourish the Soul" will be released in June.
