The Blacklist season 8 episode 12 is coming this weekend on NBC, with the title "Rakitin." The storyline will revolve mostly around Harold Cooper (Harry Lennix). He is in grave danger and a lot of people are coming after him. It would be interesting to see who among his colleagues will save him.
In The Blacklist season 8 episode 12, Cooper is being targeted by the Man from the East, as well as Rakitin. It can be noted that episode 11 ended with Lennix's character about to be executed in Moscow. The main question is whether someone will show up to rescue him.
There are a few potential people who may try to save him. For instance, Liz Keen (Megan Boone) might be returning with this episode to rescue Cooper. Although she's determined to take Raymond Reddington (James Spader) down, it is unlikely that she wants the assistant director to die.
Cooper has been a mentor and a good friend to Liz before she went on the dark path. If ever she learns that he is in danger, she'll likely show up to rescue him. At the same time, she will continue with her plan to go after her former partner.
There is also a possibility that Reddington is the one who's going to save Cooper in The Blacklist season 8 episode 12. However, the major risk in saving him is that he might be exposing everything about himself in the process. Thus, he may ask other people's help to make his plan happen.
Reddington may enlist Lisa Park (Laura Sohn) to help him rescue Cooper. After all, she owes Reddington earlier this season and this might be a chance to repay her debt. They might team up together and will try to find a way how to free the assistant director.
In the promo of The Blacklist season 8 episode 12, Reddington is trying to convince the Man for the East not to proceed with some of their plans. He clearly wants to protect Cooper, though it is uncertain whether he wants to save him since he cares for him or he just wants to protect his true identity.
Reddington is aware that the Task Force may shut down if ever something bad happens to Harold. He possibly realized that it's pointless to go after him since the drive is already out there. Perhaps, his top priority right now is to conceal his identity.
The Blacklist season 8 episode 12 will be airing on Friday, April 2, on NBC.
