Shameless series finale is coming this weekend on Showtime, finally wrapping up the story of the Gallagher family. The family comedy-drama has been airing on the network for more than a decade, and now, it will likely deliver a huge, emotional twist on its final run.

Shameless series finale comes with the title "Father Frank, Full of Grace," suggesting that the patriarch of the family, Frank (William H. Macy), is going to be the major focus. His fate is in question after what happened to him in the penultimate episode.

In "The Fickle Lady Calling it Quits," Frank's dementia got even worse and his condition caused more concern for his family. In the final moments of the previous episode, he had an overdose and the Gallaghers saw a letter after they found him unresponsive.

It appears as though Frank intends to do this as he wants to go on his own terms, considering his previous actions. He does not want to see his health further deteriorating as days go by. This has led to a lot of speculations that the patriarch died in Shameless series finale.

However, the promo of the final episode showed Frank seemingly survives. In the clip featured, he can be seen opening his eyes. But then, there are questions even if he makes it out alive -- including his physical and mental state after the things that he went through.

Despite the clue that he's alive, some speculated that he wakes up to bid goodbye to everyone. The character isn't present in some of the recently released preview photos, hinting that something happened to him. For now, it's yet to be seen what the future holds for him.

Meanwhile, the return of Emmy Rossum's Fiona Gallagher in Shameless series finale remains uncertain. But, since this is the final of the series, it would only make sense the eldest Gallagher is coming back for one last time. She's been an essential part of the family as she raised her siblings when Frank neglected them.

Aside from Frank and his dysfunctional family, the final episode will also feature other characters -- particularly Kev (Steve Howey) and V (Shanola Hampton). The two decided to move to another part of the country, and before leaving, they'll be throwing a goodbye celebration at Alibi.

Shameless series finale airs on Sunday, April 11, on Showtime.
