Nagi and Erika's incredible love story will be hitting the small screen as A Couple of Cuckoos anime series is about to be out. Miki Yoshikawa's manga story has successfully made its way into the world of animation, making fans more excited for it.
A Couple of Cuckoos is about Nagi and Erika, who have been switched at birth and arranged for marriage. Although these things have no place in the 21st century, Yoshikawa bravely tackles these in his story.
The franchise has dropped its official trailer, giving fans a glimpse of what they will see in the series. It shows Erika and Nagi pretending as a couple after the latter has been forced into a "one-sided deal."
However, both have no idea that their engagement is already fixed. According to Epic Dope, their lives have been tangled even before they have the chance to meet their biological parents.
Sure, they are the most easy-going couple fans are about to see, but their situation in A Couple of Cuckoos is another question. Erika is a teen SNS celebrity, while Nagi is an introvert who loves to read books.
Their personalities differ entirely from each other, and its new visual just shows it. Erika and Nagi awkwardly pose for a picture together, hinting at the hardships of pretending as a loved-up pair.
Kaito Ishikawa will join the show to play the role of Nagi, while Akari Kito will take on the character of Erika. Shin-Ei Animation and Synergy SP will handle the series' animation, with Hiroaki Akagi as the chief director and Yoshiyuki Shirahata as the director.
Aside from the new A Couple of Cuckoos anime, the title will also have a new novel that will be out on Wednesday, April 14, Anime News Network noted. Yoshikawa started the manga in January 2020 in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine.
It published its fifth compiled book volume on January 15. The magazine, on the other hand, teased Yoshikawa would collaborate with Aka Akasaka and Mengo Yokoyari's Oshi no Ko manga.
Kodansha Comics described the manga's tale about the 16-year-old student Nagi, who was switched at birth. He accidentally met Erika when he was on his way to meet his biological parents.
Erika wanted to make Nagi his fake boyfriend as she didn't want to get married. However, after meeting his birth parents, they had already decided to have him marry the daughter they had raised to solve the hospital switch.
Who is this girl? It's none other than Erika.
Fans are about to see their eccentric story in A Couple of Cuckoos anime when it hits the small screen in 2022.
