Queen of the South season 5 episode 2 will continue to see Teresa Mendoza (Alice Braga) embracing her new status as a queenpin. She has expanded her business and that only means that more problems are coming for her. There'll be dire consequences with every operation that she does.
Queen of the South season 5 episode 2 is titled "Me Llevo Manhattan," which clearly indicates that Teresa will be spending most of her time in New York City. She's been doing everything that she can just to climb up to the top and make her own empire -- even if it comes at a high price.
Queen of the South season 5 episode 2 picks up where the premiere, titled "Fantasmas," left off. Aside from dealing with her old enemies, Teresa also has to deal with the new ones. Things get even more complicated for her as she needs to carefully choose the people she's going to trust.
In episode 1, the queenpin can be seen wearing her classic white suit while running with her bloody feet and a gun in her hand. Pote Galvez (Hemky Madera) followed her as she chased down a young woman. It remains to be seen who this young woman could be and why she and Teresa try to kill each other.
James Valdez (Peter Gadiot) also returned, though no one seemingly trusts him now. He has been gone for a year and didn't inform anyone of his whereabouts. It was revealed that he's embedded with the CIA contractor Devon Finch (Jamie Hector).
James was also surprised to see Kelly Anne Van Awken (Molly Burnett) back with the team as he recalled killing her after Teresa gave him an order to do so. Now, the queenpin told him that Kelly Anne is her attorney and Pote added they considered her as a family.
It looks like everyone is still suspecting James since he may betray them in the end. There is a possibility that he and Devon were keeping their eyes on Teresa closely. James' unexpected return is something that could further drive the storyline.
In Queen of the South season 5 episode 2, Teresa continues doing her business even though tension is rising. She will arrange a sit-down in New York between the Russians and the Dominicans. Since this is going to be the final installment of the crime drama, things would get even more intense later on.
