Prodigal Son season 2 episode 9 will continue to dive deeper into Malcolm Bright's (Tom Payne) world. The crime drama has just got back from a short hiatus last week and it delivered more mysteries that needed to be solved. Next week's episode is titled "The Killabustas" and here's what viewers can expect.
In Prodigal Son season 2 episode 9, Bright will try to take down the group called "The Killabustas," though he knows that working on it won't be an easy task for him. There'll be chaos waiting for him on the other side, which could put him and his career in jeopardy.
Based on the synopsis of Prodigal Son season 2 episode 9, Bright decided to take on a new case despite Gil Arroyo's (Lou Diamond Phillps) fatherly concerns. He's going to investigate an escalating killer that has Edrisa's (Keika Agen) online vigilante group, calling themselves "The Killabustas," trying to stop him.
Bright has been taking on new cases while trying to cover up the truth about Nicholas Endicott's (Dermot Mulroney) death to protect his sister, Ainsley Whitly (Halston Sage). Some have started to dig further into the case but he is doing everything to cover up what really happened.
Now, he has to deal with the Killabustas whilst continuing to protect Ainsley. However, he recognized that he cannot hide the truth forever. Endicott's death remains to be a major part of the story and more secrets unfold as the investigation continues.
As for what else is coming in Prodigal Son season 2 episode 9, Bright and Ainsley's mother, Jessica Whitly (Bellamy Young), needs to dive further and revisit her past trauma to write a book. To face what happened to her before, she might need Gil's help to do it.
Elsewhere, Martin Whitly (Michael Sheen) has his own spotlight, as well. His relationship with Dr. Vivian Capshaw (Catherine Zeta-Jone) intensifies. The major concern here is that the two are becoming closer, hinting that they may do something dangerous at some point.
Dr. Capshaw seemed unimpressed with Martin at first, but she began to see him from a different perspective. They might end up working together and bring more problems for Bright and others. It's interesting to see where their relationship will lead them as the previous episode ended with the two expressing their feelings for each other and sharing a kiss.
Prodigal Son season 2 episode 9 airs on Tuesday, April 20, on Fox.
