Call the Midwife season 10 is finally arriving this weekend on BBC One after being off-air on the small screen for more than a year. The period drama will continue to follow the midwives and nuns of Nonnnatus House as they face a lot of challenges each day.

Call the Midwife season 10 brings more interesting stories to several characters -- including Nurse Beatrix "Trixie" Franklin. Series star Helen George, who plays the character, teased that Trixie is heading in a new direction and she may find a way to save the Nonnatus House.

It can be noted that most of the characters have been trying to figure out how to protect the place and stop it from shutting down for good. However, the biggest challenge for them is that more parents opt to go to the hospital rather than go to their facility.

Now, it seems like Trixie has found a way to make Nonnatus House stay afloat in Call the Midwife season 10. She is going to a private clinic in Chelsea, known as the Lady Emily Clinic. She'll observe how their system works and everything related to midwifery.

In a video shared by the series' official Twitter account, George explained that the Nonnatus House will be renting nuns and midwives to the Lady Emily Clinic. In return, they'll get monetary funds and can save the facility from closing down permanently.

In the premiere of Call the Midwife season 10, Sister Julienne (Jenny Agutter) is trying to figure out whether a private clinic venture to generate Nonnatus House's income is suitable for the Sisters' workplace. She, then, enlists Trixie to determine if such a move is a good decision.

However, not everyone agrees with the plan, especially Dr. Turner (Stephen McGann) because he's against private health care. This leads to tension between him and Sister Julienne, their first falling out for the past 20 years and felt by all. Yet, Trixie still proceeds and spends six weeks at the Lady Emily Clinic.

Elsewhere, Lucille (Leonie Elliott) and Sister Frances (Ella Bruccoleri) were both startled when a baby boy was born without legs below the knee. The latter informed Dr. Turner about it and he believes that this might be another Thalidomide case and try to uncover the cause of it.

Meanwhile, Cyril (Zephryn Taite) is moving into the flat just above the Buckle's paper shop with the financial support of the Church. Sister Monica Joan (Judy Parfitt), on the other hand, continues to deal with her crisis of faith.

Call the Midwife season 10 is premiering on Sunday, April 18, on BBC One.
