Call the Midwife season 9 episode 4 is coming later this week on PBS. Within this episode, we're going to see the Nonnatus House seemingly in trouble. The good thing is that some of the characters are doing whatever they can in order to save the place.
In the synopsis of Call the Midwife season 9 episode 4, "Sister Julienne volunteers Nonnatus House to take part in a training initiative to help Doctors with an obstetrics Diploma." Sister Julienne is making a huge step to help doctors and also helping the community to get more involved.
Call the Midwife season 9 episode 4 also sees Dr. Turner and Sister Julienne hoping that the exercise reminds the council how important Nonnatus House is to the community to avoid the threat of demolition. But despite their efforts, some things could still go in a different direction.
The main struggle here is not everyone in the community thinks that Nonnatus House is essential. The place is on the verge of being demolished, as some want to use the land for something more. In addition, others think that the Nonnatus House and hospitals cannot exist together.
But then, the people within these places could actually work together in tandem. The things that midwives do are also changing as the series goes on and they're becoming more valuable. They aren't just midwives anymore; they're also educators who are helping mothers dealing with urgent and difficult times.
In fact, in the previous episode, the midwives go extra miles just to help those in need. One of the essential stories happened in the previous episode was seeing Nurse Crane going to a school to give vaccines to new students and discussed the importance of vaccines as well.
As for Lucille, she was able to help someone deliver a baby in an elevator. She was in a difficult situation but managed to keep everyone calm and deliver the baby safely. Although it was stressful, she still managed to help a mother in need.
Also, the series does not only feature serious stuff as it also comes with some cool events. For instance, the previous episode also saw Valerie, Violet, Trixie, and Sister Frances putting on a charity fashion show for the community.
Call the Midwife season 9 episode 4 airs on Sunday night, Apr. 19, on PBS.
