K-Pop idols always face scrutiny from the public. It is not surprising, though, considering the industry's apparent popularity and success today.

One of the most common talks about the artists is related to the country's strict beauty standard. Accordingly, the discussions, also, have something to do with plastic surgeries.

Recently, K-Pop plastic surgeons talked about the matter, Botox, in particular. Two experts from Moon Clinic plastic surgery facility in South Korea, Park Moon Soo and Kook Hwa explained why idols get such treatment for their nostrils.

Koreaboo reiterated the statements they made in an engagement. The two directors of the facility began by revealing that Botox is "one of the most common cosmetic treatments" among South Korean artists after debuting.

The usual injection sites include brows, jawline, forehead, and lip area. But, K-Pop idols, reportedly, get them, as well, for their nostrils, a site that is generally deemed as "unusual," considering that this area does not have wrinkles.

The Moon Clinic directors, then, shared that it is all about the "close-ups" from the idols' performances. During shows and concerts, there are always camera zoom-in views for each of the artists.

While they are all naturally good-looking personalities, singing and dancing on stage is challenging. The performers quickly find themselves out of breath while doing their acts.

Accordingly, being out of breath means nostrils flare, and this is something many K-Pop idols do not want to see in their zoomed-in moments. As a result, they get Botox for this area, so even when breathing hard, the "nose is fixed."

Botox is not the only typical procedure in South Korea. A separate report from Koreaboo listed the usual plastic surgeries and treatments in South Korea. It is worth noting, however, that this is popular not only among K-Pop idols but, the public, in general.

On top of the list are the double eyelid and jaw reduction surgeries. As the public would recall, having a slim jaw and double eyelids are norms in accordance with the strict Korean beauty standard.

The report, also, included rhinoplasty and eye-widening surgery to the list. Many locals undergo forehead and chin augmentations, as well, because these help in making individuals look young.

In the world of K-Pop, though, many agencies do not allow their artists to get surgeries without permission. While it has become too common to undergo treatments and procedures, only a few personalities have admitted to getting them in public.

Preview previously named some of these individuals. These include Jessi, JooE of MOMOLAND, Minzy of 2NE1, and Narsha of Brown Eyed Girls.
