Kate Middleton had some serious concerns about Prince Harry's relationship with his in-laws prior to marrying Meghan Markle. She allegedly could not understand why her brother-in-law didn't meet his bride's father or the rest of her family members first.

According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, Kate Middleton felt that Markle might have been embarrassed by her family, especially about her relationship with her father, Thomas Markle. Middleton grew even more concerned when Harry said in a radio program that his own family embraced his future bride "like the family she never had."

Meghan apparently only shared information about her mother, Doria Ragland, and hardly spoke about the rest of her relatives to the royal family. The royals have only met Ragland in person, while they have never interacted with the duchess' father or half-siblings.

The duchess revealed in an interview with Orpah Winfrey that she grew up in a family dynamic as the "only child." However, she did have an older sister and brother from her father's first marriage, which she claimed she hasn't seen more than a handful of times.

Meghan also said that her father betrayed her by collaborating with the paparazzi for a scoop prior to her wedding. But the older Markle told Daily Mail he didn't have any problems with his daughter until she became a member of the royal family.

In contrast, Middleton had a solid family upbringing as a child and remains very close to her family. Prince William also fell in love with his in-laws and loves spending time with them.

According to royal expert Katie Nicholl, William adored Michael Middleton, the Duchess of Cambridge's father, because he is charming and gentle. In the Middletons, William found a "sense of normality" compared to his very chaotic and very public life, where he has been in the spotlight since birth.

William also took the time to sit down with the duchess' father and mother and explained how their daughter's life will change once they get married. However, the Duke of Cambridge also made sure that the Middletons will not be exempted from his wife's life and they will always have the chance to see their grandchildren, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Meanwhile, royal sources said that Kate Middleton made an effort to help Meghan adjust to her new life as a working royal. Only, her guidance was "constantly misinterpreted." Insiders said that Kate and Meghan are not the best of friends in the royal family but they are cordial to each other.
