My Hero Academia is now on its final act and things may soon come to an end. With that, Kohei Horikoshi hints at who may play a major role in the last few chapters.
Although it may still take a while before Horikoshi concludes My Hero Academia, it will come to a close one way or another. So, who will survive and who will take the frontline?
In an interview with Jump Giga, via Comicbook, the mangaka talked about the final act, though he cleared that he couldn't say anything that would spoil the fans. However, he revealed who would be the key players in the last few chapters.
He said Hawks and Ochaco would surprisingly have a significant role in the series, becoming the "light of hope" for everyone. Shoji, too, would be seen doing his best.
There would also be more heroes that fans wouldn't expect to be on the frontlines in the final act of My Hero Academia. Something big is about to happen to Shinso, Monomaniacs, and Sero.
Horikoshi continued there would be many characters that would merge into one, so fans have to keep an eye on all of them. Meanwhile, in the franchise's special exhibition event in Japan, there's this one image that caught everyone's attention.
Though the snap wasn't seen online, its detailed description revealed it featured Izuku and Ochaco cuddling up to each other. Does this have something to do with these two's romance in the series?
Horikoshi cleared this scene would never be part of the manga, but the idea of Izuku and Ochaco getting closer to each other could do so. It's just for aesthetic purposes that he deemed their romance would develop if he explored it deeply.
Hence, it's not "entirely unrelated" to My Hero Academia either. Indeed, these two have feelings for each other, but the manga has no time to feature any romantic scenes with its ongoing battles.
It recently introduced the Second and Third One for All users and it looked like they had something against Izuku. The latter's flashback gave a glimpse to the One for All's past inheritors, where the two appeared.
The Second User was a young man with spiky hair like Bakugo but with a large scar on his face. The Third User, alternatively, seemed to hate Izuku's charity.
They both claimed that they knew how brutal the villains could be and couldn't understand why Izuku didn't want to kill Shigaraki. As they seemed to have an agreement with Izuku, it's a must-see what would happen from here.
Fans are about to know more when My Hero Academia Chapter 311 drops on Sunday, May 9.
