In the latest episode of The Curse of Oak Island season 8, titled "Silver Lining," the team has made another huge discovery and it could lead them to the exact location of the Money Pit. Through scientific analysis, the fellowship recorded high levels of silver that might be buried in the area of the speculated valuable treasure chest.

The recently-released episode of The Curse of Oak Island season 8 followed the team suspecting a large amount of silver buried beneath the location of the Money Pit. This prompted them to double their efforts in finding it before the winter hits the island. What makes their digging more interesting is that they were able to uncover several artifacts.

The team's excitement was further hyped up when geologist Dr. Ian Spooner presented a plan, which is getting water samples from the wells and the holes they've already dug in. With the help of his colleague Dr. Matt Lukeman, Ian explained to the Lagina brothers and the fellowship that they'll be helping them to "put an X on the map."

Ian explained that they should test the waters to find traces of silver, which corrodes over time. And although gold does not corrode, Rick Lagina believes they'll be able to find it if silver is present in the area. Marty Lagina, on the other hand, likes the idea and asked his brother, Rick, if he's also interested, to which he responded: "No question, SCIENCE!"

The results of the water samples came in after a few days, allowing Ian to reveal the findings in the "War Room." At first, he asked the team whether they're certain that the Money Pit contains treasure. Then, he revealed that out of the 12 samples they tested, he and his colleague Matt found that three of them have a "massive spike" of silver, zinc, and copper.

At the end of the recent episode of The Curse of Oak Island season 8, Ian concluded that they have every reason to believe that a massive amount of silver was deposited into the three wells. When Doug Crowell asked how much is needed to record something like that, the geologist replied: "It's a Gerhard dump truck." Hence, the team will likely do more diggings since the show is ending next week.

The Curse of Oak Island season 8 will air its final episode on Tuesday, May 4, on History Channel.
