BTS has always engaged in various charitable causes across the globe. Aside from being ambassadors, the seven members, also, donate hefty sums to help communities and humanitarian organizations.

With their warm and touching movements, it is not surprising why millions of their fans follow them in this arena. Just this week, ARMYs have raised RS. 21,92,714, approximately $26,000, to help the devastating COVID-19 crisis in India.

Koreaboo reported that "Bangtan India" took the lead to raise the fund via Twitter, using a crowdfunding account on Milaap. Based on the notice, they would exhaust the funds for securing medical supplies, food, oxygen, and other essentials. Over 2,469 individuals supported the cause, which has since been known as "Covid Relief India By BTS ARMY."

The Independent covered the same story, detailing the developments of the fundraising event. As reported, the global fanbase of BTS was able to raise the said amount in just 24 hours.

The key individuals responsible for the action have continued to share updates on Twitter. In one of the earlier notices, they said that over "Rs.4.5L has already been distributed to 3 causes."

After thanking everyone who donated to the cause, they urged the public to follow Covid Relief In India's official account on the same platform for more details on the distribution of the funds. They have since maintained the account and shared numerous updates to provide necessary information among BTS supporters and donors.

Following the heroic acts of the K-Pop group's fandom, reports noted that this is not the first time fans have ventured to help a cause. In 2020 alone, ARMYs all over the world repeatedly raised significant amounts of funds for various campaigns and advocacies.

South China Morning Post said that avid fans and supporters from the Philippines were able to raise over Php4 million, approximately $83,000, earlier in November. This came after Typhoon Ulysses hit the country hard and caused devastating damages in various cities and provinces.

The same thing happened amid the Black Lives Matter movement in the United States. After BTS donated $1 million to the cause, their global fanbase matched the amount through a campaign on social media.

ARMYs utilized the hashtag "Match A Million," in hopes of reaching and even surpassing the K-Pop group's donation. In less than 24 hours, they were able to exceed the targeted amount. Some notable personalities even joined the cause, including WWE superstar John Cena, who has repeatedly publicized his admiration for BTS.
