When Calls the Heart season 8 finale will be arriving this weekend on Hallmark Channel. Titled "The Kiss," Elizabeth (Erin Krakow) finally makes a decision when it comes to her love life. She's been caught in the middle of a complicated love triangle, with Lucas (Chris McNally) and Nathan (Kevin McGarry) competing for her heart.
Over the past few episodes, there have been hints as to where Elizabeth is heading. Some believe that she is going to choose Lucas over Nathan, given that the latter had played a part in the indirect death of her late husband, Jack (Daniel Lissing). However, others believe it'll be the other way around and she'll choose McGarry's character in When Calls the Heart season 8 finale.
Lucas loves Elizabeth, but he knows when to let go if necessary. He wants to make sure that she'll be happy with her decision -- even if that means he'll sacrifice his own happiness. In the penultimate, he already showed his willingness to step backward. He recognized Elizabeth's feelings towards Nathan, something that she's likely not aware of.
But, even if Elizabeth doesn't choose Lucas in When Calls the Heart season 8 finale, that doesn't mean that their story is over. The two became closer and have built a friendship over time. Perhaps, she can still lean on him when times get tough and he'll be there for her whenever it's needed. They're going to continue spending together even if the situation gets complicated.
In addition, the promo further teased that Elizabeth ends up with Nathan. Her eyes light up every time she sees him passing by -- though she's holding herself back. Also, she took care of him when he visited her house, asking him to take off his red serge to warm it up. This was her habit before; the time when her husband was still alive.
Then, Elizabeth helped Nathan button it up again and she realized that the scene was too familiar to her. Because of this, many suspected that she is going to choose the Mountie in When Calls the Heart season 8 finale. Moreover, his presence in her house mark's the first time a serge uniform has been on her house since Jack's death.
When Calls the Heart season 8 finale will be airing on Sunday, May 9, on Hallmark Channel.
