Prince Charles and Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall, had a sad 15th wedding anniversary because this was also the same day Prince Philip died. But the royal pair still received letters and cards from well-wishers who did not forget their anniversary.

According to Hello, the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall have started sending out their thank you cards for those who greeted them on their wedding anniversary. The card had a photo of Charles and his wife, as taken from Highgrove house, where Camilla has kept five life-size sculptures of elephants. Camilla also took the time to write a short note in each of the thank you cards.

The royal pair both accompanied Queen Elizabeth to the State Opening of the Parliament at the House of Lords on May 11. This was the queen's first public engagement following her husband's death on April 9.

Camilla walked behind her husband, who held the queen's arms all the way to their ceremonial march in the Parliament. It was a preview of what the future would be for the British monarchy when Prince Charles follows his mother as the monarch.

Sources, however, said that the public does not want the Duchess of Cornwall to become the Queen Consort when Charles is the King of England. According to royal expert Robert Jobson, the British people do not want Camilla near the throne or the crown even if she's entitled to this as the king's wife.

But insiders said that Camilla doesn't have aspirations to receive the title of Queen Consort and she is content to serve as her husband's support. Similar to Philip, Camilla will stand by her husband as a dutiful consort, regardless if her title will be upgraded to the queen.

Meanwhile, Charles recently made a comment that it has been sad for the royal family to have an empty seat at the dinner table when his father died. The Prince of Wales reflected on the loss in his message for the Muslim community observing their annual Ramadan in the face of the pandemic and restrictions. The future king said that his heart also goes out to families who will have a different Ramadan because they are no longer complete.

Prince Charles also thanked the public for sending their messages of sympathy for the royal family. He said that so many of his friends from other countries called him up to say that the send-off for his father was a beautiful ceremony.
