A cousin of Queen Elizabeth has spoken out against Meghan Markle and Prince Harry for giving a tell-all interview as Princess Olga believes that royal family members should just "sit down and shut up" instead of talking about their lives on television.

In the documentary The Queen & Her Cousins, Olga, who is a descendant of the House of Romanov and a cousin to both the queen and Prince Philip on each side of her family, admitted that her view of Harry and Markle is "not great."She said that grew up with the understanding that the monarchy should keep the mystique alive and its members should not grant interviews, something she believes Queen Elizabeth has been upholding quite well.

Olga said that the queen never sat for a TV interview when she's besieged by misery and the only time Her Majesty has spoken of her personal anguish was when she mentioned "annus horribilis" in one of her speeches. She said that her cousin has been doing the right thing as her focus is just on her work as the sovereign and monarch.

Meanwhile, Olga said that being a Russian royal princess does not impact her life at all. She grew up in England and was once considered a potential bride for Prince Charles. She shared that she was in her late teens when she saw her name in a magazine, which had a list of potential matches for the Prince of Wales.

Her mother talked to the magazine without her knowledge and she said she was horrified for being on that list. Olga said that she doesn't want to be the future Queen Consort but, at that time, she was not allowed to say anything.

Princess Olga's family arrived in England from Russia during the revolution and after the family of Tsar Nicholas II were executed. While she had a governess and nannies, it was her grandmother who raised her in an eccentric life that's far different from the royals.

The royal doesn't even consider herself as close to the Mountbatten-Windsor family as she has only met Queen Elizabeth and her other cousins, Prince Charles and Princess Anne, as a young girl. Olga said she has quite a lot of cousins to keep track of her blood relationships.

However, she did have very kind words for the Duke of Edinburgh and was "terribly sorry" for the loss, especially for Queen Elizabeth. Today, Olga runs an Airbnb in her family home in the United Kingdom.
