Fans now expect the newly-announced Dragon Ball Super movie to give birth to a much-awaited TV series three years after the show ended. A new interview with the animator heightens the assumption, hinting that a new animated show is in the works.

All eyes are now on the upcoming Dragon Ball Super movie after its official announcement on Goku Day. As this makes the talks about the new anime coming, will Goku and the rest of the gang indeed return on the small screen?

Rumors about the new anime begin when the franchise's official website shares its interview with Jay Dominguito, an animator from the Philippines. The post hints a new anime is now in the works, but as the discussion is posted in both English and Japanese, the latter text says differently.

According to Comicbook, the English version seems to have only been auto-translated, so professional translators come to the rescue. Twitter user Cipher_dn clears what Dominguito says is he is looking forward to seeing a new anime to continue the Dragon Ball Super story if there will be one.

So, an alleged anime is not in the works and the wrong translation only leads to a huge confusion all over the world. As big as a company as Toei Animation is, it may the best time for it to hire a professional translator.

Details about the upcoming Dragon Ball Super movie remain scarce and the only things confirmed are what the creator Akira Toriyama said in the official announcement. In his statement, via CBR, he announced an all-new movie is about to come after Dragon Ball Super: Broly and it is now in production.

Just like the previous film, he will be leading the story and scriptwriting process. Though he doesn't want to give more details away, he teases there will be "some extreme and entertaining bouts" that may come with an unexpected character, per Coming Soon. He also reveals they will explore new territories in regards to its visual aesthetics and more.

Broly continued the vents of the Universal Survival Saga, featuring Goku and Vegeta facing Broly. Although the movie's main character was found in several Dragon Ball movies, the 2018 film's reiteration was a reworked of him and his first appearance in the canon.

Toriyama is yet to reveal when the new Dragon Ball Super movie will exactly be out, though he says it will be in 2022. So, there may be more announcements coming about it in the coming days.
