Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 16 is bringing a lot of emotional moments for most of the characters. Titled "I'm Still Standing," the episode will feature the aftermath of Dr. Jackson Avery's huge revelation. Jesse Williams' character is leaving Seattle to be with his ex-wife, April Kepner (Sarah Drew).

Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 16 serves as the penultimate of the current installment, and it'll bring significant events leading to the season finale. Aside from Jackson's decision to go, it looks like another character is planning to leave, as well.

Dr. Tom Koracick (Greg Germann) hitched a ride with Jackson and April to take on a new job offer in Boston. This is a strong indication that the character is leaving the medical drama. In fact, he was only slated to return as a guest star in future episodes.

Elsewhere in Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 16, Levi (Jake Borelli) was accepted to a vaccine trial, while Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) and Owen (Kevin McKidd) treat a crash patient. Hayes (Richard Flood) and Jo (Camilla Luddington) are met with the legal guardian of baby Luna.

Also, the promo of the penultimate episode teased that a lot of storylines throughout the current installment will be wrapped up before the season finale comes to air. For instance, Meredith Grey's (Ellen Pompeo) arc is something that will be addressed.

In Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 16, Meredith is seemingly recovering after being tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the season. She has been unconscious and spent most of her time in the dream beach sequence, where she reunited with her late husband, Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey).

But, even though Meredith is getting better now, she won't be immediately jumping back as a full-time surgeon. She still needs some time to recover, regain her strength, as well as catch up with everything that happened around her while she was unconscious.

The promo, however, hinted that Meredith may decide not to return full time at all. In the clip, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) can be seen talking to her, pointing out that she "can't lose any more surgeons." Then, she replied that she can't operate is she can't stand on her feet and that she "may never get back."

Meanwhile, Link (Chris Carmack) told Amelia that he wants more kids, but the latter seemed to disagree with the idea. As for Jo, the clip showed her becoming more concerned about Luna and there's a possibility that she'll finally decide to adopt her.

Grey's Anatomy season 17 episode 16 airs on Thursday, May 27, on ABC.
