Kate Middleton kept her promise to the 4-year-old girl who wanted to meet her in person wearing a princess pink dress and the Duchess of Cambridge did show up in the girl's favorite color for their face-to-face meeting.

Mila Sneddon and Middleton had a phone conversation in 2020, where the little girl asked about her princess dress. The Duchess of Cambridge promised her that she will be wearing pink if they see each other one day and that finally happened during her royal tour of Scotland with Prince William this week.

Kate Middleton invited little Mila and her family to visit them at the queen's official home in Scotland. Mila is an immuno-compromised child so Middleton, who has been vaccinated, still wore a face mask and observed social distancing when they met in person.

However, the Duchess of Cambridge also could not help but greet the little girl warmly. She shows her that she's giving her a big hug and then compliments Mila for her pretty shoes and dress. Delighted, Mila gives Middleton a twirl that made the duchess laugh.

In 2020, Mila's mom submitted a photo of her daughter, who had to be isolated from her father and sister when the COVID-19 pandemic struck, to the Duchess of Cambridge's Hold Still initiative that charts the experiences of the people during the lockdowns. The photo was one of the 100 finalists the duchess picked out of over 33,000 submissions.

Meanwhile, Middleton and her husband are on their final day in Scotland. The pair spent time with children at the Edzell Nursery in Edinburgh, where they planted another tree in honor of Prince Philip.

Middleton and William also visited the Fields of Trust, a charity that Philip was very passionate about. The couple wanted to know the progress of the charity's conservation efforts to protect green spaces around the U.K.

The day before wrapping up their Scotland tour, the couple spent some time at the town where they spent four years together as college sweethearts. Middleton and William enjoyed a brief downtime during their royal tour to eat fish and chips by the docks, which was apparently what they used to enjoy in college.

Kate Middleton and Prince William studied at St. Andrew's University from 2001 to 2005. They also lived in one house, among other college friends, during their stay at the university town.
